Overview

About Ranthambore

Ranthambore, in eastern Rajasthan near Sawai Madhopur, is home to one of India's largest and most famous national parks and among the best places in the world to see wild Bengal tigers. Spanning dry deciduous forest, lakes and ancient ruins, the park also shelters leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and rich birdlife. Overlooking the reserve, the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage hill fort of Rajasthan - adds historic depth to any wildlife visit. The park is divided into multiple safari zones and is typically visited between October and June.
